Art Showing @ 2 Museums

Two little pieces of news to share... the East Troy Historical Society Museum has purchased one of my Random Net glass pieces.  It is now on display as a part of East Troy's history.  The Museum has just moved to a new location right on the square.

The other little piece of news is one of my sculptures is on display at the Waukesha Historical Society Museum through September!  August 7th is the next Art Crawl and the museum lowers the admission to $3 per person. Make sure you stop by and check it out!

A little painting

I've had the itch to do some painting lately and this is one that i completed recently. To make the paints permanent for fabric I bought an additive that I mixed in as I painted and iron 24 hours after it dries.
This was done just all free hand with no plan in mind other than I knew I wanted it colorful and that it is.  I have one more chair like this I plan on painting with a similar style but not the same. Stay tuned!

Work in progress

I love the depth I got with this piece. The green has sparkles that catch the light and are stunning.  I'll post when it's finished.

Art in the Works!

It will be over 25 hours before I can see these new pieces.  I can't wait!  Spring has given me new ideas for some art.  I want to try my hand at some watercolor and ink and then create the same in my glass.

Holidays

I have been busy getting things ready for the holidays creating ornaments, making special orders and working on a few new gallery pieces. This year my first round of ornaments are the blue snowflakes.
I have also made assorted color wire wrapped stars. No photo of the stars yet.

The Jazzamataz event at Artavina Gallery was a success. It was a great turnout, I'm so glad to see all of you that made it out to listen to the music and buy some art. Some awesome art pieces were raffled off as well. Hope to see you at the next annual Jazzamataz.

Jazzamataz Night

Artavina Gallery is hosting Jazzamataz Night to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This disease hits close to home for so many of us. I have lost family members to the disease and have friends who have been effected by it. The event is being held on October 16Th from 6pm to 9pm. There will be live music, snacks and refreshments and a chance to go home with some great art. I'm looking forward to the demonstration given by one of the artist that is planned for the evening. It will be great to see some of you there.

Art Crawl 58

The Art Crawl was a great success! I had a wonderful time meeting everyone. It's so inspiring to hear all the artist talk about their art with such passion and excitement. It was nice to see some familiar faces. I can't wait for the next one, in December for those of you interested. There are so many things going on with all the other shops and galleries it really makes for a fun time.

I took a break to grab a bite with my family at Sprizzo's Gallery Cafe. We listened to the band "Dirty Boogie" while we were there. They played in front of some large windows and attracted a crowd on the other side. The style of music was a great selection of top hits from the 70's to present.

"The Free 4 Fall Crawl"

Today is the day! The Art Crawl starts at 4pm and goes until 10pm or later.

Fabulous art, live music and great food! My name is not in the list of artist in the art crawl guide this time, but I was the only artist of all the galleries involved in the Waukesha art crawl to be featured in The Freeman Newspaper.
I was at the Gallery last night and installed the fixture that holds all of my mobiles and sun catchers. They look great hanging in the window.

I really like the texture of the glass on these mobiles.

I will post pic's of the Crawl. Hope to see some of you there!

Featured Artist of September!

This piece is "Simply Smashing". Now available at Artavina Gallery in Waukesha.
I am currently showing my work at Artavina Gallery located at 378 W. Main St. Waukesha WI 53186. I'm excited to participate in my first Art Crawl this October 3rd! I'll post more info about that closer to the date. Artavina offers art work from a talented group of artists. I am especially fond of a large tile mosaic in a tack welded metal frame created by Kristin Kopps Donnelly.
