I have been busy getting things ready for the holidays creating ornaments, making special orders and working on a few new gallery pieces. This year my first round of ornaments are the blue snowflakes.
I have also made assorted color wire wrapped stars. No photo of the stars yet.

The Jazzamataz event at Artavina Gallery was a success. It was a great turnout, I'm so glad to see all of you that made it out to listen to the music and buy some art. Some awesome art pieces were raffled off as well. Hope to see you at the next annual Jazzamataz.

Jazzamataz Night

Artavina Gallery is hosting Jazzamataz Night to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This disease hits close to home for so many of us. I have lost family members to the disease and have friends who have been effected by it. The event is being held on October 16Th from 6pm to 9pm. There will be live music, snacks and refreshments and a chance to go home with some great art. I'm looking forward to the demonstration given by one of the artist that is planned for the evening. It will be great to see some of you there.

Art Crawl 58

The Art Crawl was a great success! I had a wonderful time meeting everyone. It's so inspiring to hear all the artist talk about their art with such passion and excitement. It was nice to see some familiar faces. I can't wait for the next one, in December for those of you interested. There are so many things going on with all the other shops and galleries it really makes for a fun time.

I took a break to grab a bite with my family at Sprizzo's Gallery Cafe. We listened to the band "Dirty Boogie" while we were there. They played in front of some large windows and attracted a crowd on the other side. The style of music was a great selection of top hits from the 70's to present.

"The Free 4 Fall Crawl"

Today is the day! The Art Crawl starts at 4pm and goes until 10pm or later.

Fabulous art, live music and great food! My name is not in the list of artist in the art crawl guide this time, but I was the only artist of all the galleries involved in the Waukesha art crawl to be featured in The Freeman Newspaper.
I was at the Gallery last night and installed the fixture that holds all of my mobiles and sun catchers. They look great hanging in the window.

I really like the texture of the glass on these mobiles.

I will post pic's of the Crawl. Hope to see some of you there!

Featured Artist of September!

This piece is "Simply Smashing". Now available at Artavina Gallery in Waukesha.
I am currently showing my work at Artavina Gallery located at 378 W. Main St. Waukesha WI 53186. I'm excited to participate in my first Art Crawl this October 3rd! I'll post more info about that closer to the date. Artavina offers art work from a talented group of artists. I am especially fond of a large tile mosaic in a tack welded metal frame created by Kristin Kopps Donnelly.

New pot melt!

I really love pot melts! It's like Christmas! You never now what it is going to look like until it's cool enough to peek into the kiln. This is the before picture of the pot melt. I picked all my colors and weighed the glass to make sure the final size would be what I wanted. Made up the kiln schedule and not quite set it and forget it but close. Then i waited and waited...

This is it after its first fire in the kiln.
It will go through at least two more times in the kiln before it is what it is.
I really like the way it turned out so far. I just love the bubbles!

Busy Busy Busy!

I have been working on some graphics projects that have really consumed a lot of my time for the past few months. Amazing how quickly time goes by. I have a few things in the works for the next couple of weeks. One thing is the Energy Connection I'm doing on July 18th at Local Industry. Several business owners are getting together to talk about what they can offer the community and I am doing a talk and demonstration about my fused glass. I hope to have more pieces done by then. I'm working on some garden art pieces as well as some wine bottles recycled into decorative vases and sun catchers. I will post pictures when I get that far. Looking forward to the event and hopefully we'll have a good turnout.

working on it...

It has been a busy couple of weeks and I haven't taken the time to post. I have been doing things like turning another year older, working on my taxes, which of course is not totally complete. I worked on my new website and as soon as it goes live it will be linked here. I have not been able to update my existing website with new work for way too long.
I have redesigned my business cards and had them printed by Zazzle.com . Love that website, they are super fast! Ordered my last set on Thursday night and they are set to be delivered the following Thursday. I was able to have a photo of one of my glass pieces on the entire back of the card.
As soon as taxes are complete that will give me the time to get some metal plasma cut and welded up. Maybe the snow will be gone by then too.
